What’s the best diet for weight loss?

The important thing when it comes to reducing body fat is that you achieve a ‘calorie deficit’ consistently, over time.

Eating in a calorie deficit means consuming less calories (energy) than you use.

However, it’s not always that simple when you consider other factors such as hunger, habits, and lifestyle.

The ‘best’ diet for weight loss is one that suits you the most – one that enables you to stick to a calorie deficit consistently, over a period of weeks, months, or more.

There are all sorts of dietary patterns and tools out there that can help with this such as calorie counting apps, macro tracking, low-fat or low-carb diets, and intermittent fasting (to name but a few).

But in the end, all research points to the same thing: there is no one best diet that suits everyone. Achieving a calorie deficit matters the most when it comes to successfully losing weight, not the method by which you achieve that calorie deficit - that can vary wildly from person to person but always results from the same thing - reduced intake of calories one way or another.
