My message on Menopause Awareness Day 2024
I want my story of surgical menopause to be one of hope and optimism.
In 2018, when it happened to me, the conversations that we are having today were not a thing - look how far we have come!
Many women now are asking the questions and sharing the information that, just a few years ago, weren't being asked and that we didn't have.
I work with some amazing women who are piecing the puzzles of their health together bravely in their 40s, 50s and 60's for a healthier future - learning about nutrition, exercise and HRT after decades of not taking proper care of themselves, or not knowing how to. That's fantastic - it takes guts and strength and perseverence to do.
I know this, because I've done it. And I am still doing it.
When women start to pay attention to what they need, and focus on what health means for them, then the difference, the progress, the growth - it's incredible.
